Mediocre faith

I am fed up of mediocre faith, the below will define what mediocre faith is to me:-

Mediocre faith is saying we believe in Jesus but not acting on it.

Mediocre faith is not really loving others but just making it look like we do.

Mediocre faith is putting worldly things above God.

Mediocre faith is wasting any opportunity, no matter how small, to tell others about my faith.

Mediocre faith is being unwilling to give up something for God.

Mediocre faith is thinking I know better than God.

Mediocre faith is denying God's Word.

Mediocre faith is not practicing what we preach.

Mediocre faith is putting what others think before what God thinks.

Mediocre faith is not believing that God sees you as beautiful in His eyes.

When I come to think of it, mediocre faith isn't really faith at all.

Do you have any to add?? Please go for it in the comments section :-) Let's pray that we can all have a faith that is at least as small as a mustard seed and that it would move mountains in Jesus' Name!

Matthew 17:20
He replied, “Because you have so little faith. I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you. ”

  1. Isn't it better to have a little bit of faith than none at all though ? because you are then letting God into your life a little bit, and after a while this little bit may grow bigger and impact on you,
If you had no faith at all, there is no little bit of God in your life....
Some people are scared to let go fully straight away and they grow their faith from a grain of sand to 'hopefully' a sandy beach, you have to let that grain of sand fall into your shoe for it to be worked on and stamped into your life....
I don't know if the above makes sense, I know that you shouldn't go around spreading god's word if your not 110% in yourself, but for the people who are just starting isn't mediocre faith ok? To begin with ? ? ? ?

  2. Hi!

Thanks for your post :) What I'm trying to say with this post is that 'mediocre faith' isn't really faith at all and that we can make a huge difference with a small faith..the verse at the bottom demonstrates that :-)

I am fully aware that people grow and I am still growing myself. As has been said, we are works in progress and Jesus will make us more like Himself.

I think that each area of our lives we should desire to be faithful and whilst we can be faithful in many things, we can also be faithless in others. It doesn't mean you are not a Christian or not saved.
I just see these trends in myself and others and was kind of thinking out loud about it.

Sorry if any offence was caused, I hope you understand my reasoning :-)
