This a picture of me and my family at the restaurant we went too on Christmas Eve. We had a fantastic Christmas in Hungerford, where my Uncle & Auntie live.
A few thank you's:-
Thank you for Grandad for paying for a lovely meal!
Thank you to
Thank you to my Uncle & Auntie for having us!
Thank you to my brother Joel & my cousin Andrew for all the fun we had, I will fondly remember the MarioKart marathon!
Thank you to God for giving us your Son and Salvation through Him meaning we have a reason to truly celebrate! He is the Reason for the Season!
Hope you all had a wonderful CHRISTmas!
I absolutely love this picture!! I'm so glad to hear that you and you family had such a blessed Christmas!!
ReplyDeleteHope to talk to you soon!! Miss you :)
Grace and Peace!
I thought I would reply to you here.
ReplyDeleteI all depends on your definition of celebrate. I buy my friends and family presents, we put up a tree and and eat turkey. I only do these things because the rest of my family does, if I didn't I would miss out on a lot of great time with them. I am Scrooge, without the ghosts! My Christmas has never had any religious connections, except when I was forced to be part of the nativity when I was five. I don't feel like a hypocrite when I sit down and eat my turkey because, unless you attend a church, there is no religion in Christmas anymore.
Now I'm sure you will disagree with that :) but look at it from an everyday point of view. I used to work in a large retail store. In October, Christmas stuff would start making it's way on to our shelves. Christmas trees, decorations, plates, table clothes, Santas and reindeers with extendable legs, "Santa Stop Here" signs, chocolates and gift sets. Not one item had anything remotely related the birth of Jesus on it. The Christmas lights go up in town centres, it's all bells and trees. The big thing at Christmas, sends everyone crazy, is the Coca-Cola ad. Its a load of trucks, some snow and Santa having a refreshing bottle of Coke. Christmas is a time for making money.
I, personally don't like Christmas, in fact I despise the whole holiday. Why do I want to celebrate the commercialisation of a religion I don't believe in. I don't like how the world shuts down for a few days, or how you have to queue all bloody day in Tesco for a loaf of bread. The world goes crazy this time of year (see, as I said, I'm Scrooge minus ghosts!)
I don't mind Easter though, because I'm addicted to Cadbury's Mini Eggs.
Caitlin - Miss you so much too! Are you free for a skype date anytime soon?
ReplyDeleteHi again, can I ask what your name is? I am sure I probably know you as well as I am also from Talbot Green!!
Thanks for your response :) I share your disgust for the money making side of Christmas. For me it is about God's great gift and giving to each other as a response to that. I love the time with the family and am a bit of a food lover so really enjoy the food haha.
Mini Eggs are great I agree with you there for sure :)
Hope you have a great New Year!
I'm pretty free the rest of this week...just let me know when you're available and I'll let you know but like I said as of right now I'm pretty free :)
ReplyDeleteOh and something very very exciting came in the mail for me today :D Thank you Thank you Thank you!! I absolutely love it and I cannot wait to listen to it :D
Hope to skype soon!
Okay cool! I might come online late tonight if you are around for that :) the 30th might be a free one too and maybe if I'm at home with Steve & Adrian we'll do a New Years Eve skype! How exciting would that be?
ReplyDeleteYAY :D No problems! Couldn't think of much to write in the card really, we say it all on here haha
God Bless!
Tonight might work...I haven't felt great today so I might be calling it an early night but then again late tonight for you is much much earlier than an early night for me but we'll see how I'm feeling...but if not tonight the 30th should work and New Year's Eve would be fun if y'all are home and I'm home (not sure our plans for it yet). But it would be neat especially if we skype when it's 2011 your time and 2010 for me haha
ReplyDelete:D The great was super sweet! Loved it...and that's true we do say it all on here haha
Grace and Peace!
Okay, we'll see then :)
ReplyDeleteAwesome! As long as we get one in haha. There is probably loads to catch up on!
The great was super sweet??? haha
:)
Peace & Grace to your face!
Well, obviously last night didn't work out haha...but not for the original reason I thought it might not...at about 3 pm yesterday we had a major power outage in our house. Thankfully we were home or it could have been really bad and dad thought quickly to turn off all the power in the house since it something had blown and we definitely had smoke coming out of the power meter which leads to our house. The main power source blew, but thankfully the power company was able to temporarily fix it and should have it permanently fixed later this week. But some appliances and electronics and outlets have been fried and we thought the internet was but we got it up and running today...so it was kind of an interesting day in the Munro household last night haha
ReplyDeleteBut I hope we're able to skype soon!! I think we do have loads to catch up on!!
haha I thought of trying to come up with some witty response to my typo and then I thought I would blame it on not feeling good...but well we both know that I just don't proofread anything before I send it haha...so correction...the cards was super sweet!!
God bless!
My name is Hadley. I've only lived in Talbot Green for a few months but I've been coming here for years. I don't really know anyone here so I doubt we know each other, unless you've been to Southern California a lot over the last 24 years!
ReplyDeleteI came across your blog after clicking on the next blog link at the top of the page for hours, willing it to show me something interesting. And it did. Although I don't buy in to Christianity, I find what you have to say about it, fascinating.
I was really surprised when I read you were from Talbot Green. I came across many from Cardiff and Swansea but never this close to where I was.
Mini eggs are great aren't they. My favourite thing about Britain is Cadbury's chocolate.
Wow, I am amazed you are from the same village and I don't even know you. I was convinced I would have known you from school or something!
ReplyDeleteThanks for saying such nice things about the blog. I hope you continue to enjoy it :)
Our chocolate is the best in the world...well maybe Belgium beats us? I don't know haha
Happy New Year :) Maybe I'll bump into you in 2011!
