Happy Birthday!

Today I am going to a birthday party but not a person's birthday party. We are celebrating an cause, an effort, a work, a series of events put on by faithful adults and attended by many different generations of many different young people over.....15 YEARS!

Happy Birthday to PCY! (Pontypridd Christian Youth)

God has been doing great things through PCY, is currently doing great things in PCY and will do many more great things through PCY. PCY's sunday night spin-off Bible study 'Coffee Shop' helped lead me to faith and many others will point to PCY as a big part of their testimony of faith.

Thank you to all of the wonderful people who have given time, money, resources and themselves to PCY over the years and Praise God for all of what He has done :D

Acts 5:38-39

"Therefore, in the present case I advise you: Leave these men alone! Let them go! For if their purpose or activity is of human origin, it will fail. But if it is from God, you will not be able to stop these men; you will only find yourselves fighting against God.”

Please comment your biggest memories from PCY over the years if you have been a part of it:-

I have so many myself and one that does come to mind as special is the end of Camp 2006 when we all held hands in a circle and sang 'Awesome God'. I still remember how powerful that was.

Let me know yours!!

  1. Happy 15th Birthday Day, PCY!! May you have another amazing and blessed 15 years and many many more! May God continue to use you to touch the lives of the youth in Wales (and Americans who happen to show up there randomly haha :D)

PCY was one of my favorite things (and when I say favorite my list is like 100+ haha) when I was in Wales...hmm favorite memory though is hard to name...the one that stands out to me the most is probably the first PCY I attended. Rachel and I hadn't even been in Wales a week and we came up with the group from Pentrebach. Once we got there I was put on a mini-bus with a group from PCY and we went to a Christian ship that was docked in Cardiff. I have no earthly idea what the message was on (I promise I listened though haha), but the friendliness of everyone in PCY is what I remember so much. Everyone was so welcoming and so personable from the first moment. There were no awkward moments of silence, everyone made me feel like I had known them for years :) It was such a blessing to me and a reminder of what the Body of Christ should look like - an inviting, welcoming place and that's what PCY exemplifies :D (I also remember the bus ride back singing silly songs at the top of our lungs with Elina, Beeker, Carwyn, and Meiz...oh and I think I met this one Welsh guy there, too...hmm wonder who that was?! haha)

  3. That's funny Caitlin because I met some crazy awesome Floridian (if that is a word) through PCY ;)

I remember the night you first came and I remember doing a funny dance with Louis' harmonica which you found funny and then we chatted for ages :) we were always friends we just didn't know it yet!

Thanks for sharing, those are such sweet memories to me as well :) God has used that immensely!

Laura - Through PCY & Coffee shop I met Krissi and through her met you too!

It's great that these are the memories here because PCY began to give young Christians the opportunity to meet others like them and it certainly has achieved its aim through us :)
